Police was pleased with the overall crowd behaviour at the Surfers Paradise Schoolies celebrations overnight with a large crowd converged in the Surfers Paradise CBD.

There were 17 schoolies arrested on 29 offences overnight, mainly for drug possession offences. Of those arrested, 16 were male and one was a female schoolie.

Fifteen schoolies were also issued with liquor infringements notices.

There were seven non-schoolies arrested on eight charges relating to public nuisance and drug possession.

Police continue to remind school leavers to act responsibly.
