Police have released vision of a man who may be able to assist in their investigation of a robbery at a service station at the Grange this afternoon.

Around 2.30pm a man walked into the business on Days Road and threw a bag on the counter, demanding money and cigarettes.

The man then produced an axe and began swinging it, smashing a computer on the desk.

The store attendant handed over a sum of cash and cigarettes and the man fled the shop along Carroll Crescent.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

The man is described as having a South American accent and was wearing a black Adidas shirt with white writing, dark coloured shorts and white sneakers.

He had his face covered with what appeared to be a white shirt with the letters “ECKO” written on it in black.

Anyone who may have further information about the incident is urged to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
