Police are seeking public assistance after a man was threatened with a knife and his dual cab utility stolen at Woodridge this afternoon.

Around 12.30pm the victim stopped at his house in Barkala Street when a man got into the passenger seat of the ute. The man attempted to grab the keys from the ignition and a struggle ensued. He then threatened the driver with a knife and the driver got out of the ute and removed his two young children from the back seat before the man drove off in the ute.

The man is described as in his late 20’s, Caucasian, about 180cm tall and of medium build, with cuts on his arms. He was wearing shorts and t-shirt with a black baseball cap.

At around 12.45pm the ute was then involved in a hit and run crash at the intersection of Mt Gravatt Capalaba Road and the Gateway Motorway, Mackenzie. No one was hurt in the crash.

Police are appealing for anyone travelling in the area at the time with dashcam vision to contact them.

The vehicle is a blue 2014 Ford Ranger dual cab with Queensland Registration AMD06 and was last seen headed west on Mt Gravatt Capalaba Road.

Police are appealing to anyone who has seen the vehicle or has further information to contact police.
