Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Marsden earlier this morning.

Officers were called to a convenience store on Barklya Place at 9.15 after a man entered the store.

He produced a knife and made demands for cash, and when the attendant complied, he fled the scene on foot.

No one was physically injured as a result.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 180cms tall and believed to be in his early 20s.

He was last seen wearing a purple hooded jacket with the hood up and gold-rimmed sunglasses.

Investigations are continuing and anyone with any information which may assist is being urged to contact police.
